This short film documents the lives of a blind and visually impaired couple, Mark and Lidia. I’ve followed them through their active daily lives as they attend indoor climbing, horse-riding and walking in their local woods with their guide dog, Braken.
This short touches on concepts such as stigmas associated with disability, how an active lifestyle can benefit mental health and exploring experimental filming techniques through collaboration. This was shot with a spacious, observational aesthetic in mind, I wanted the content to speak for itself, and the themes of the film to come through naturally without forcing subjective ideas on the audience.
